Its alright(mediocre) but sensitivity meter slider doesnt so anything...
I dont know how but it does
I was desperate to find a steel property marker pin buried below the surface and after reading the reviews of all the metal detector apps., I chose this one because it seemed to have the least negative reviews. I was expecting nothing and was prepared for a entertainment app. at best. Well I was surprised. I set the sensitivity control to just below half and went to the area where I knew the pin must be. It started responding and I dug in that area. As I kept waving the phone over the area, (1" off the ground surface), and dug in that area, I found the pin about 6" below the surface. Its not super accurate and does not cover a wide area, but it does detect ferrous metal. I suspect you would have to be a maximum of 6" or so from the metal object and size of the object matters. It doesnt seem to detect stainless steel, aluminum or any other non-ferrous metal, but I expected that because of the "compass" type nature of the app. Adjusting the sensitivity to anything above much more than half makes it seem to go off all the time even in the absence of metal. So it does actually work on my iPhone 4.
Needed to find a man hole in back lane - under 12" of ice. Found it immediately - accurate - bang on! Amazing!
Nicely laid out with a functioning gauge. Very clean and simple. Much better than a lot of the other silly interfaces out there. I got the job done with this app.
Ive been using it about 2 years. Be patient and move slow and it will find a screw, nail, metal stud ... to mark your needed stud
Tried 3 apps, this was #3 in order and the only one that worked.
I was looking for a stud finder and all cost $ with poor reviews. I used this free app to find a nail in the stud and was able to hang a heavy print on a stud!
Would not have found the studs in my walls (and ceiling) without this. I kept getting mixed signals from the wall knock trick and from the nails in the floor board panels. I was really rather frustrated until I found this. Thanks for making life a tiny bit easier!
This app found studs in the wall but I am not sure if it can tell the difference between a stud and a nail. It did twice within 10 minutes start going off nonstop for no reason while in the palm of my hand and I had to force quit. I wish it would tell you what it meant when it was 60ut, 120ut and 180ut ranges. A few days later immediately after launching the application it started going off in my hand twice in a row before I did anything. This bug has to be fixed. There needs to be a way it just stops going off as well. I have to force quit, that is no good.
I tested on known studs then used to find unknown ones and it was great. Highly recommend this app.
Good app - hate the ads. Cant get rid of them.
These reviews are fabricated. App doesnt work at all. Thank you.
Too sensitive but it definitely found the stud for me
Fabricated reviews is right. Opened the app all it does is make a sound and vibrate and the bar stays in the middle to whole time. Dont waste your time. Pathetic People would give this 5 stars. Desperate app developers smh!!
Very good tool to work
Doesnt read. Difference between my hand and breaker bar was 10 units.
Forgot my stud finder at the office. Figured "theres an app for that" and sure enough there is. Used it to find metal studs behind dry wall and thats what it did. Though not as good as a real stud finder since it doesnt detect the edges like a true stud finder but it is definitely better then trusting the knock on wall trick.
I have braces and put my iPad to my mouth and pushed it on there and it went all the way up.. When I tried it on my friend.....NADA!!!
